Welcome to my blog.
I am a wife and a mother of three. I work full-time in a career that keeps me busy and focused. I’ve created this blog for fun, to share and to create a community of 40ish people who are honest and real, building on their strengths and learning from their mistakes. I love to write and always have. I used to have a mommy blog when the kids were younger and I wish I had kept it up! It was such a great way to share ideas, recipes, funny stories and just the reality of parenting. This blog is also fostering my love for writing again, which is truly a gift to myself.
I am far from perfect and have come a long way in my 40 years of life and have been lucky enough to surround myself with many people who have an amazing growth mindset. This means, you don’t have to be the same person you were yesterday. We are always learning and growing, it is what we are meant to do! We are perfectly imperfect humans, hello!
Based on what I know and what I’ve learned in my joyous triumphs and horrible failures, I may tell you (gently) how it is, but wouldn’t ever tell you what to do. That is what being in a tribe that supports growth is all about, and my hope is that you’ll find it here.
Some things I love: my family, my dog, self-help books, ketchup chips, red wine, anything related to healthy equity and women’s health, hip hop music, and comfort food cooking. What else can I add…I’m a juxtaposition of sorts and I’ve learned to embrace my quirks and reflected on my mistakes to be the best possible person I can, today. I have a low tolerance for arrogance or judgments. I embrace authentic people who are relational, kind and compassionate, and as a self-proclaimed empath this comes as no surprise to me now but over the years my authenticity meter has strengthened. I’m excited to share more of my 40 years of wisdom – whether you’re 25, 30, or 45, or somewhere in between or beyond, the point is that we are all in this life together. My motto is to smile and be kind and I hope to bring joy to my friends and readers. This blog is a leap of faith for me. I truly hope you love it and find ideas and inspiration that resonates with you.
That’s me. This blog is about life at and around being 40..ish. Empowerment. Reflection. Laughter. Information. Education. Fun. Real Life.
Disclaimer: I will probably laugh at my own jokes.
Okay, now that you know me a bit more, pass over that wine.
You get reading, and I’ll get writing
